CERTIFICATIONS
Develop your practice through lived philosophy and nature-connected inquiry.
In development — register your interest below.
I’m developing two certification programmes for people who want to bring philosophical depth, presence and careful judgement to their work with others. Each offers a structured approach grounded in practice, reflection and ethical responsibility.
Philosophy-Inspired Coaching: Flourishing as Practice
A person can achieve the goals they set and still find themselves wondering what their life is actually for. Questions of meaning, responsibility and how to live can become central to the coaching conversation.
This certification develops your ability to work thoughtfully with those questions. It draws on Stoic, existential, Buddhist-inspired and Daoist perspectives, offered as ways of examining experience and possibilities with a client. A developmental model of flourishing and a clear framework for coaching conversations give the approach its practical structure.
The programme is designed as a personal apprenticeship. Each candidate is mentored individually by me throughout the certification, with space to examine the ideas, develop their practice and receive guidance on their particular learning needs.
The full track offers complete training in the approach, leading to certification as a Philosophy-Inspired Coach through Coaching Philosophia on successful completion. It is also intended to prepare candidates who wish to apply for IAPC&M accreditation as an Accredited Practitioner Coach, subject to its separate requirements and assessment.
The specialist track offers a reduced-fee route for coaches already holding recognised accreditation with the ICF, EMCC or IAPC&M who wish to become certified in the Philosophy-Inspired Coaching approach.
I am an Accredited Fellow Coach with the IAPC&M. Accreditation of this programme will be sought as part of its launch; it has not yet been awarded.
Nature-Connected Philosophical Inquiry
Steps of Insight brings philosophical inquiry, embodied presence and immersion in the natural world into your professional practice.
It is designed for philosophical counsellors, life coaches, nature-based therapists and other practitioners who already have a foundation in holding thoughtful, one-to-one reflective conversations.
You will learn to work with dialogue, sensory attention, movement, stillness and silence, responding to the person and the setting. A client’s question may lead into an examination of values or assumptions; at another moment, shared attention to the natural world may deserve time of its own.
The programme draws on my research in nature connectedness, training in nature-based practice, and work on walking and lived philosophy. Learning includes personal outdoor practice, philosophical questioning, ethical and practical preparation, and assessed client work.
Walking is one way into this practice. Encounters can also involve wheeling, sitting or a combination of movement and rest, shaped around access needs and the circumstances of the person.
This is a specialist certification for integrating Steps of Insight into your existing professional scope.
